The Brahma Kumaris presented the Jewel of Bharat award to Dr. Sandeep Marwah during a large gathering at Mount Abu on November 3, according to an ANI press release. Rajyogini B. K. Mohini Didi, chief of the Brahma Kumaris, conferred the honour in the presence of Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Dr. B. K. Mruthyunjaya, additional secretary general of the Brahma Kumaris. The event drew more than 8,000 devotees and members from India and abroad to the spiritual centre in Rajasthan. The recognition highlighted Marwah’s decades of work in promoting art, culture, education and international cooperation through creative platforms.
Marwah serves as president of Marwah Studios, founder of Noida Film City and chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts. An institutional profile on the AAFT website places the number of students trained by his programmes at more than 30,000 from 145 countries across multiple creative disciplines. He has chaired more than 100 national and international organisations focused on media, entertainment and cultural exchange, previous reports from his affiliated bodies noted. The award specifically cited his establishment of 13 world records in fields related to art and culture.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Marwah said, “I am deeply honoured to receive the ‘Jewel of Bharat’ Award from the Brahma Kumaris at this sacred place of Mount Abu.” He added, “The blessings of Rajyogini B. K. Mohini Didi and the presence of the Hon’ble Union Minister for Culture and Tourism make this moment exceptionally meaningful for me.” The press release quoted him dedicating the honour to everyone who believes in the power of art, culture, education and media to transform society.
Marwah told the gathering that his work follows a guiding philosophy of Love, Peace and Unity Through Art and Culture. The 13 world records reflect the combined contributions of thousands of students, artists, filmmakers and educators rather than individual achievement, the release stated. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing education and creative fields as vehicles for peace, progress and stronger international ties.
The Brahma Kumaris maintains its international headquarters at Mount Abu, known as Madhuban, where it hosts tens of thousands of visitors each year for spiritual programmes, according to the organisation’s published information. The group focuses on Rajyoga meditation and ethical living as pathways to global harmony. This latest award forms part of its tradition of recognising individuals whose efforts align with values of unity and positive societal impact.
Marwah’s initiatives have included the creation of multiple Indo-foreign cultural forums that organise events, festivals and exchanges to build people-to-people connections, a review of his chamber’s activities showed. Noida Film City, which he founded, has grown into a major hub supporting employment for thousands in the creative sector, according to industry assessments. His ongoing work continues to emphasise cultural diplomacy as a tool for fostering understanding across borders.
