The E’ville Eye News reported that the program runs through Oct. 30 and includes exhibitions, public art unveilings, guided tours, film screenings, poetry readings and community gatherings across four weeks. ABG Art Group is producing the event alongside the City of Emeryville and local cultural organizations, expanding on the foundation set during the inaugural year. Emeryville residents can access most activities without traveling far, as the city integrates its creative venues into the month-long celebration.
This edition adds the first Emeryville Restaurant Week from Oct. 1 to 11, with more than 30 restaurants, cafes, bakeries and food businesses providing special menu items, prix fixe options and discounts. The culinary program receives partial sponsorship from the City of Emeryville even though it is coordinated independently of the arts programming. Such integration of food and culture aligns with broader Bay Area trends that use dining events to boost attendance at arts festivals.
The 40th Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition forms a cornerstone of the month, displaying 210 works by 106 artists who live, work or keep studios in the city. For the fifth straight year the show occupies space at the Public Market, according to the local outlet. The milestone exhibition highlights the sustained artistic output in a community that has hosted the event for four decades.
Organizers have also scheduled the annual Harvest Festival at Huchiun Park, an event that has rapidly grown into one of the city’s most popular gatherings and draws participants from throughout the East Bay. Guided walking tours covering public art, local history and private collections return after their successful debut in the previous year. Additional offerings range from poetry events and film screenings to the dedication of new public artworks scattered around Emeryville.
The inaugural Arts and Culture Month in 2025 opened with a gala for the 39th edition of the art exhibition and introduced Gallery 4509 at The Emery apartment complex with contributions from local Pixar artists. That first program also featured open studios, artist panels and a unique pottery and dining experience, helping establish the month as a budding civic tradition. This year’s calendar builds directly on those elements while increasing the emphasis on culinary participation.
Emeryville maintains a prominent place in the regional creative economy as the headquarters for Pixar Animation Studios since 2000, a presence that complements its artist cooperatives and public art installations. The current art exhibition’s scale, with more than 100 participating creators, illustrates the depth of talent the city continues to nurture. ABG Art Group and municipal partners have therefore designed a diverse lineup intended to engage both longtime residents and new visitors throughout October.
